I waited a couple of weeks before writing this because I wanted to actually spend some time with the bench and not just throw out a first impression. i’m Glad I did!
First off, shipping was fast and discreet. Nothing about the packaging gave anything away, which I appreciated. The unboxing experience was great too… Each step was more exciting than the previous one. from Opening the shipping box, to seeing the bench wrapped, then taking off the plastic, and finally opening it up and finding the hidden storage under the false bottom. It just kept getting better and better.
Build quality feels really solid. It feels like functional furniture. No wobble, no concerns. I’m around 230 lbs and have no issues sitting on it or putting my full weight on it.
The storage space in this bench is fantastic. We had three nightstand drawers full of toys, etc. before this, and it was kind of a mess. Having to dig through drawers to find something or remember where i had put something was FRUSTRATING in the moment (iykyk). Now everything is inside the bench and easy to get to.
One of the things I like most is that it doesn’t force you into a specific setup. It’s easy to make it your own. I’m planning to add some dividers so everything has its own place, and maybe some hooks along the back wall for longer items (think a bar with a particular use). It’s a great base that you can customize however you want. In fact, the first modification I did to ours was add a USB hub inside with four ports and run a cable under our bed to it. Now everything stays charged and ready to go without wires hanging out everywhere.
Another big thing is how normal the bench looks. It just sits at the foot of our bed like any other bench you might get from a furniture store. We’ve had it there for a few weeks now and no one has even noticed it. That solves a big problem right there. No more worrying about hiding things or locking doors.
A few smaller things that i really like:
– The lock feels secure and does what it’s supposed to
– The motion-activated light inside a great addition (because who like to play with overhead lights on?)
– Assembly was simple and easy to do by myself
– the interior of the box is lined and looks great
Overall, this solved a real problem for us. It cleaned up our space, keeps everything private and secure, and it looks great in our room. now we have space to expand our collection without it turning into chaos again.
I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a better way to store their toys without making it obvious to what is inside!
